A reflective note

This semester was as interesting as the last one. I learned a lot of useful web sites to improve my writing skills, which I use now and plan to use in the future. I was remembered what the thesis statement is. We also did some exercises to improve their writing. It is a pity that such a course will be no longer, because such experience was very useful for me. The experience of expressing my thoughts in the Internet space. Now I'm less afraid to express my thoughts in English in social networks, as I have already had some experience of doing that here, in my blog.I guess it was very interesting work in blogs and the fact that I have the opportunity to see the posts of my classmates, taking something useful for me. I really liked that we didn't only wrote essays, but also discussed things happening in the world at the moment. Before class on academic writing started, I did not know about the existence of the hashtag #metoo and this phenomenon itself. But when I was asked to write about it an essay, I learned a lot of not so pleasant things that happen with people wwho are writing about their experience under the hastag #metoo.
My classmates and I now know exactly how to write an essay correctly and grammatically right. Thanks my academic writing's professor that we had discussions and curious tasks during the classes.

A final opinion essay

Hey, everyone! Today I'd like to share my thoughts about the role of family in peolple's life.

I guess family plays a really great role in life of every person on the planet. It gives us a huge spuctrum of emotions from positive  till negative ones. Just a good, united family could teach us right things.

During the home reading class, I've read a book called "About a boy'. One of the main massages of it is the role of family in people’s lives. For example, 36-year-old Will doesn’t have his own family but it’s alright for him. But when 12-year-old Marcus appears in his life, things change. His view on life changes a lot. By the end of the book, Will realises that family is really important.

Family is very important in everyone's life. Behavior, position in society of any person depends on how parents brought up the person. Parents will always help and tell you what is bad and what is good in the world.

So, why is a family so important? I think it's because the family teaches the most important basics of life. If a child is well brought up in the family, he grows up a good, decent person. I think support, love, care and understanding in the family are the most important factors that everyone needs for a happy life.

 Should the current laws in your country be revised or changed?


I've choosen a really curious topic for me considering current laws in my country. I reckon some of them should be changed or removed, as they are not appropriate.

For instance, the disconnection of Internet is definately absurd and current for Russia. The government promises it will be painless for the Russians, but most do not think so. Why is the government going to do that? Just because of political points, I guess, as it won't be convinient for people  at all. Some messangers, apps we're used to won't be available.

Another negative point of the disconnection of Internet is that realization such a reform' demands lots of money. You can not even imagine how many money needed. It is said that just for the estamblishment the goverment spent 300 mln dollars!!! What a shame! I guess,  such sum  could be spent on something more important for Russia. For instance, our country has huge problems with poverty. Prices are rising but not people's wages.

To sum up, I wish our government made decision directed on people's conditions of life. Some of reforms are really stupid and useless.

A summary of an article.

Recently, I've read a really curious article https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/dec/04/is-owning-a-dog-good-for-your-health which is about the usage of owning a dog. I've chosen it as the artcle makes me (hope you as well) to think about the role of dogs in our lives.

The artcile "Is owning a dog for your health?" are revealed some pros of owning a dog. For instance,
having a dog can reduct the death from heart disease and lower risk of dying from any cause.
Secondly, The dog is a good friend for you, really. It loves you so much you couldn't imagine. It just needs a bit of your time and care. A dog can help you avoid loneliness, suffering from problems, depression and even avoing some illnesses.
I wish people never got rid of dogs or adopt homeless ones, because a dog - is a real friend to a man.

The benefits I got from the academic writing course

Good afternoon, my followers☺️
Today I wanna write some words about one of the most useful subjects in my uni - the Academic Writing course.
First of all, I wanna thank my AW professor for her efforts to develop my skills in writing different types of work. I got really important things from this course. For instance, I’ve never do blogging and it was complicated for me to write posts  in the internet. The hardest thing was to write a well-organised work.
Secondly, I’ve studied some curious stuffs how to write essays correctly and since the begging of this semester my skills in this kind of work have developed.
Next semester, I wish we discussed rules of punctuation as sometimes I mix up punctuation marks as I try put them in the texts like in Russian, but it’s English and the rules there, of course, are different.
Next semester I wanna work harder to get more information!

Good afternoon, my dear friends. I'd like to share some dictionaries I usually use.
1) https://dictionary.cambridge.org/ - is the best dictionary I ever used. There you can read clear explanations of different words and their synonyms, right prononciation of words, grammar of English etc.
2) https://www.macmillandictionary.com/ - another vey useful dictionary, where you can find really easy explanations of words, lots of examples in particular sentences of words and their synonyms.
3) https://wooordhunt.ru/ - is the Russian-English dictionary which is definetely helpful when I cannot get the meaning of words.

Highly recommend you to g these dictionaries if you already didn't. Glad if you could find here something profitable and interesting.

#Metoo

Hello, everyone! Today I wanna tell you about a realy serious and current problem in our cruel world - sexual harrasment. My academic writing teacher told me there is a  #metoo movement against sexual harrasment and sexual assault. Women share their awful experience in the different social networks using hastag #Metoo.

 I was fully appaled, when I read this horrible twit(https://twitter.com/NBYousafzai/status/1067452098927841280). Apart from the harrasment, a policeman killed the innocent girl as well. How on the earth that could happen? That means girls and women are fully defenseless, as even policemen can commit such a horrible crime.

Sexual harrasment is the definetely important problem in our world. Thousands of women and girls suffer from the sexual assult every day.

I just cannot imagine what such people think of when they do these terrible things... Do they live well after a rape they commit?

Good evening, my dear friends! It took me quite a long time to make up my mind what I'd like to write about in my first blogpost. Finally, I decided my review is about this article (https://www.theguardian.com/film/2018/oct/19/keira-knightley-kristen-bell-disney-princesses-cinderella-snow-white). I have found these interviews are noteworthy for you and me to think about.

First of all, I agree with Keira Knightley and Kristen Bell's opinions that sometimes Disney's fairytales do not have positive influence on children, especially on girls. As some of the points in old films are not actual right now and modern society demands all of its members are able to do something by themselves without someones's help. But it is not necessary to "ban" such films from children's watching. Parents just should draw ther children's attention to the points parents do not agree and explain to their children why.
